Ricardo Costa obtained his Ph.D. in Science and Engineering of Polymers and Composites from the University of Minho in 2020. He is currently a Junior Researcher at the Institute of Polymers and Composites of the University of Minho. His research is mainly focused on the development of novel numerical methods in finite volume and discontinuous Galerkin philosophies with high-order accuracy, focusing on their numerical properties and implementation challenges on high-performance computing platforms, as well as their application in the fields of computational fluid dynamics and computational rheology. He has published 19 papers in peer-reviewed international journals and 4 papers in peer-reviewed international conference books. He has co-authored 1 pedagogical book and teaches bachelor's and master's courses at the University of Minho. He has co-organised 9 international conferences. He has co-supervised 3 doctoral theses, supervised 1 master's dissertation, supervised several master's projects, and mentored several master's and doctoral students.
