Bruno M Fonseca graduated in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2006) and holds a PhD in Biochemistry (2010) from University of Porto, Portugal. Currently he is a Research Fellow at UCIBIO’s and his work deals mostly with the cannabinoids biology in health and disease and the collaborative relationship of ovarian steroid hormones with endocannabinoids. He was a postdoctoral research fellow at Institute for Molecular and Cell Biology (IBMC) in Porto from 2011 to 2016, where he contributed to uncover endocannabinoids role in endometrium stromal cells remodelling, findings that became a foundation to modern understanding of the endocannabinoids status during early pregnancy. He is the author or coauthor of more than 50 papers in prestigious international journals, receiving more than 500 citations, and he has been an invited speaker at various national and international conferences.
