Sandra Simões graduated in Biology in 2015, followed by an MSc in Ecology in 2017, specializing in otter feeding ecology and behavior at the University of Coimbra, Portugal. Her research findings were showcased at the 32nd European Mustelid Colloquium. Subsequently, she pursued an ERASMUS+ internship on conservation psychology in Paris, France, where she presented her work at the 5th Young Natural History Scientists’ Meeting and earned the award for best poster presentation. Engaging in various conservation endeavors post-graduation, Sandra delved into biodiversity assessments and species management, notably serving as a mammal researcher during expeditions to Croatia and Cambodia. She dedicates time volunteering as a researcher at BINCO, a non-profit organization focused on conservation efforts around the world. Her recent fellowships have delved into the intricate world of bee ecology and monitoring with the B-Team (CEF-UC). Following these endeavors, she pursued a fellowship at the ENGEL lab (CEF-UC), delving into molecular research in the diverse ecosystem of the Bolivian Amazon.
