I hold a PhD in Demography from the Centre for Demographic Studies (CED) and the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), with a maximum ranking (Excellent/A), Cum-Laude Mention and International doctoral research component. I am currently working on an EU-funded H2020 project, ENergy TRANsitions from Coal and Carbon: Effects on Societies (ENTRANCES), which studies the socio-demographic impacts of the energy transition in different coal and carbon-intensive regions of thirteen EU countries. In the last five years, I have collaborated in one EU funded project, two projects (HOPES and SUSTAINLIS) funded by the Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia and three I+D+I projects funded by the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Spain. I have published fourteen articles in international peer reviewed journals, three book chapter, four papers in different conference proceedings, four posters and three papers in CEDs working paper series. I have imparted nine seminars on different topics to graduate and master' students, and participated in seven international and nine national conferences. I have extensive experience of working with both qualitative and quantitative research methods. I have high competence in the use of quantitative (R, SPSS), qualitative (Atlas.ti, Nvivo) and Spatial (ArcGIS, Geoda) tools for data analysis and visualisation. I am fluent in five languages and have good communication skills. I have received several scholarships including Beca Character General, FPI, Post doctorate Scholarship POP, IREMB scholarship, etc. Recently, I have been awarded with a prestigious Extraordinary Doctoral Thesis Award, 2019 by the Doctoral School of the UAB and Best Paper by a Young Researcher award by the Association of Historical Demography (ADEH), 2019. I am a member of the scientific committees of four international peer-reviewed journals. I am affiliated with four international (PAA, IUSSP, EPC and IMISCOE) and three national (FES, AGE and ADEH) academic associations.
