Research fellow, currently working on liquefaction and cyclic mobility studies for the soils of the Lisbon riverside area. Mainly interested in developing skills concerning Engineering Geology and its ramifications. Have previously worked on the petrogenesis and metallogenesis of mafic-ultramafic layered intrusions and associated oxide and sulphide-associated mineralizations. Most tasks related to the prior subject resulted from a post-doc fellowship at IDL, Lisbon, where studies were dominantly focused on the Beja Layered Gabbroic Sequence. Specialized in Petrology and Geochemistry, having studied granitoid rocks and subvolcanic lithologies (granitic porphyries, lamprophyres, dolerites). Over the course of my academic education and professional background, I developed fundamental skills for petrological studies, namely petrographic analyses, textural discrimination, identification of alterations, microstructures in igneous and metaigneous rocks, lithogeochemical analyses (including ICP-MS and pXRF) and interpretation of results, mineral chemistry (EPMA and LA-ICP-MS), isotope geochemistry (Rb-Sr, Sm-Nd, U-Pb, Lu-Hf, Re-Os), geochronology, petrophysics (mainly related to anisotropy of magnetic susceptibility), and rock magnetism studies (IRM, KfD, thermomagnetism). Former research interests are related to my expertise in Petrology and Geochemistry, encompassing various geoscientific areas such as isotope geochemistry, geochronology, cosmochemistry, biogeochemistry, and organic geochemistry. Nonetheless, I am also interested in various others branches of the geosciences, namely metamorphic petrology, economic geology, mineralogy, crystallography, and environmental geology.
