Elisabete Teixeira graduated in Environmental Engineering at the University of Aveiro (UA, Portugal) in 2008 (Bachelor) and 2010 (Master), obtained her PhD degree in Civil Engineering in 2019 at the University of Minho (UMinho, Portugal), on eco-efficient concretes using coal and biomass fly ash. She is currently an Assistant Researcher at the Institute for Sustainability and Innovation in Structural Engineering (ISISE), University of Minho, Portugal. Her research interests and activities are mainly related to materials characterization (mechanical, durability, and thermal), construction materials, thermogravimetric and chemical analysis, waste reuse/recycling, sustainable materials, geographic information systems, risk assessment, mapping of urban critical infrastructures, extreme events, Nature-based solutions, and sustainability assessment. She participated in 14 projects, including 1 ongoing research project as Principal Investigator. This project involves about 5M€ for a consortium of 18 partners and about 400K€ for the University of Minho. She has participated in several international and national conferences, including 1 keynote presentation; organized special issues, workshops, summer schools, and webinars in collaboration with international Universities; supervised Master’s and PhD Theses; and served as a referee in PhD and Master’s thesis defences. She has also submitted, in collaboration with other Universities, research project applications, and international and national applications for individuals, including 3 approved applications as the main supervisor. She is a member of the editorial board of 2 journals and a reviewer of papers in more than 30 journals and conferences, book proposals, and research projects of the Portuguese National Innovation Agency. She is an author and co-author of more than 72 scientific publications, including 42 papers in international journals indexed in Scopus. She has an h-index of 17 in Scopus (excluding self-citations and citations from books). She has been distinguished with awards, such as the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus – 6th Edition (CEEC), awarded by the National Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT) in 20243, and the 7th Edition (CEEC), awarded by FCT in 2025. She is a member of the Portuguese Society of Associação Nacional de Coberturas Verdes (ANCV), IABSE, PIARC, and fib Commission 8. She is a lecturer in several Units of the International Master in Risk Assessment and Management of Civil Infrastructures (NORISK, University of Minho). She was also a lecturer in the University of Minho Structural Engineering Masters (STREMUM) and in an optional course that the Civil Engineering Department offered to all students in the University of Minho, about Asset Management (Opção UMinho - Gestão de Ativos).
