Completed the master's course in Molecular Biology and Genetics in 2018 by Universidade de Lisboa (Faculdade de Ciências) and the bachelor's degree in Biology in 2016 by Universidade de Lisboa (Instituto Superior de Agronomia). Currently, I am a PhD student in Biomedical Sciences at Instituto de Medicina Molecular (Universidade de Lisboa). My PhD project, titled "Understanding and inhibiting flaviviruses capsid protein to develop new drugs against dengue and Zika viruses" is being developed under the supervision of Prof. Nuno C. Santos and Dr. Ivo C. Martins. My research encompasses a range of biochemical and biophysical methodologies, such as protein purification, circular dichroism and fluorescence spectroscopy, to study the capsid protein of dengue virus and its interaction with the viral genome and nucleic acids sequences. Over the last two years, my work has also included the Zika virus, where I am actively testing potential inhibitors to prevent viral replication.
