Alexandre Trindade (AT) graduated in Microbiology and Genetics from the Sciences Faculty of the University of Lisbon (UL) in 2002 and completed a PhD degree in Animal Sciences and Technology from the Veterinary Medicine Faculty (FMV-UL) of the Technical University of Lisbon in 2008. AT has developed and produced four new mutant mouse lines. These new tools have been instrumental in growing the knowledge of Notch signalling function in various systems, from embryogenesis to cancer. AT was one of the 50 international researchers selected to participate in the first São Paulo School of Translational Science. AT was a post-doctoral researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Animal Health (CIISA) from 2009 until 2021. In that time, AT participated in 17 research projects, having been PI of seven and co-supervisor of two PhD students, and performed various contracted pre-clinical trials in a vivarium setting. The interest in pre-clinical research also led to undergoing postgraduate training in clinical trials at the Medical Faculty (UL). In 2019, he was nominated as a member of the Welfare and Ethics Committee of FMV-UL and elected to the CIISA Coordination Commission. In 2021, AT was recruited for an Assistant Professor position at Egas Moniz. In 2021, AT was elected to the Portuguese Society for Veterinary Sciences (SPCV) Direction. In 2022, AT won the position of Associate Professor at Egas Moniz School of Health & Science, and a year later, he became the coordinator of a new Degree in Biomedical Sciences. AT has been a member of the Egas Moniz Center for Interdisciplinary Research (CiiEM) since 2021 and part of the new Board of CiiEM since 2023. AT is the Head of the Research Group entitled Technologies and Solutions in Healthcare at CiiEM. AT is now the internal PI of project InFishMix, funded by EEA Grants and PI of work package task InBio2 of the InsectERA Mobilizing Agenda, funded by PRR, and supervises two PhD students.
