Nuno Baía Saraiva. In December 2017, he completed the Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Coimbra. Studied abroad in Brno, Czech Republic (2015-16), and Split, Croatia (2016-17), under the Erasmus+ program. In 2018, he enrolled on the doctoral program in Sustainable Energy Systems under the Energy for Sustainability initiative of MIT Portugal at the University of Coimbra. In July 2019, he finished the curricular course of the doctoral program. In September 2019, he started his doctoral thesis. In February and March 2020, he was visiting the Department of Conservation at Trinity College Dublin for a research internship as part of his doctoral project. Participated as a research fellow in 8 projects that explored building, energy efficiency, climate change, renewable energy, IAQ, thermal comfort, and preventive conservation. As a result of his research, he has published 7 papers in international scientific journals and participated in 5 international conferences, having participated as a speaker in more than 10 events. He was part of the jury for the academic degree in 3 dissertations for the Master's of Mechanical Engineering. He is a peer reviewer for 11 international scientific journals. His main research interests are building simulation, climate control systems, energy efficiency, heritage buildings, indoor air quality, and preventive conservation. For the academic years of 2022-23 and 2023-24, he was an Invited Assistant at the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Coimbra, teaching three courses (HVAC in Buildings, Energy Simulation of Buildings, and Technologies of Renewable Energy). His main research interests are building simulation, energy efficiency, renewable energy systems, HVAC systems, indoor air quality, thermal comfort, data analytics.
