I performed my academic training in Chemistry. My research interests are projects that allow me to work in the interface between Chemistry and Biology, developing chemical tools that enable Human´s disease studies or have therapeutic effects. I have worked in different research projects in several institutions, abroad and in Portugal, in two domains (Chemistry of materials and Medicinal Chemistry). My PhD project was focused on targeted therapies for cancer, namely, exploiting iron metabolism dysregulation to improve the selectivity of anticancer drugs, which resulted in 2 patent applications. Former Fulbright scholar at University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) in Renslo Lab. I am passionate about science, innovation and entrepreneurship and I want to develop solutions that can have an impact in Human Health. Currently, I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Medicinal Chemistry group from iMed.ULisboa - Research Institute for Medicines. Also, I am the project leader of a CaixaResearch Validate grant that aims to apply the drug delivery systems developed during my PhD for colorectal cancer (CRC). I have submitted 2 patents, published 8 papers on peer-reviewed journals, 1 book chapter and was enrolled on 5 projects.
