The Afterlives of Contract and Enslavement: Narratives on Indentured Labour between Cape Verde and São Tomé and Príncipe", a research funded by a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Global Fellowship (MSCA) (2024-2027). Since 2022, she has served as a member of the coordination team for the CES Trauma Observatory. During the period of 2017-2023, she carried out post-doctoral research within the project "CROME - Crossed Memories, Politics of Silence: colonial and liberation wars in post-colonial times", coordinated by Miguel Cardina and funded by the European Research Council. With a PhD in Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship, she was awarded the 11th edition of the CES Prize for Young Portuguese-Speaking Social Scientists in recognition of her study on the "Batepá Massacre" in São Tomé and Principe. Current research interests include memory studies, postcolonial theories, and debates on forced labour cultural history. Her doctorate is in Postcolonialisms and Global Citizenship. "Espectros de Batepá. Memórias e Narrativas do Massacre de 1953 em São Tomé e Príncipe", based on her PhD thesis, was published at Edições Afrontamento in 2018. Three prizes were awarded to the book between 2018 and 2019: the 11th edition of the CES Award for Young Portuguese-Speaking Social Scientists and two honourable mentions from the Victor Sá Contemporary History Award (sponsored by the University of Minho) and the Contemporary History Award (awarded by Mário Soares and EDP Foundations). Since then, she has been invited to speak about her research by both national and international media outlets.
