Rodrigo P. Monteiro obtained a bachelor's degree in Chemistry at the Faculty of Sciences - University of Porto (FCUP) in 2017. In 2019, he concluded his master's degree in Chemistry at the same faculty with a thesis entitled "Síntese de novos (bio)conjugados porfirínicos", the research work for which was developed at LAQV/REQUIMTE. Since January of 2020, he has held a research fellowship, at CICECO - Aveiro Institute of Materials, University of Aveiro. He has published a peer-reviewed article, as co-author, with the title "(Aminophenyl)porphyrins as precursors for the synthesis of porphyrin-modified siloxanes)" (Journal of Porphyrins and Phthalocyanines, 2019, 23(09): pp. 1001-1012). He is also co-author of a poster with the same title. He has two posters as main author: "Synthesis of porphyrin-peptide conjugates by copper(I)-catalysed azide-alkyne cycloaddition" (2019) and "Microwave-enhanced synthesis of azide substituted porphyrins" (2018). He presented an oral communication at a national conference ("Synthesis of amino-functionalized porphyrin macrocycles" (2019)). Currently, he is a PhD student in Sustainable Chemistry, at University of Aveiro. His main scientific area of interest is Organic Chemistry and, more specifically, organic synthesis.
