Joana Lopes completed her Integrated Master's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences in December 2018, awarded by the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Lisbon, and it was during this period that she began her research activity, with the development and characterization of gold nanoparticles for the treatment of melanoma. Continuing the work developed, in January 2020 she began her PhD entitled “Targeting superficial tumors using a nanotechnological hybrid approach”, which aims to develop and preclinically evaluate different nanotechnological approaches for the treatment of melanoma. Joana has the Postgraduate Course on Science Update in Laboratory Animals (Category B) and authorization of competent person to use animals for scientific purposes by the Direção Geral de Alimentação e Veterinária. Currently, she has 1 book chapter and 7 articles published in scientific journals indexed in SCOPUS and ISI web of Knowledge. In addition, she has also presented several communications at national and international conferences.
