1998/09 - 1998/12 lecturer in the “Graduate Training Course” at the Institute of Astronomy, Cambridge University. This course was an amalgam of smaller units intended to cover the areas needed for a new PhD student and part of their official curriculum. I was one of the lecturers and was responsible for the teaching of use of the computers at the institute. The course included writing up extensive notes for the students. Graduate Training Course (Doctor of Philosophy) University of Cambridge Institute of Astronomy, United Kingdom
1993 - 1994 Course on the use of LaTeX and related tools. In 1993 and 1994 I held a course on the use of LaTeX and related tools at the Institute of Theoretical Astrophysics, Oslo. The course was designed by me and involved writing up user manuals for the relevant tools as well as “cookbooks” for some of the programs in use at the institute at the time, amounting to ~100 A4 pages in total. Some of these manuals were still in use a decade later. The course was generic and had as its target group all members of the institute from BSc UiO Institutt for teoretisk astrofysikk, Norway
1993/09 - 1993/12 Tutorial teacher, “Calculus [MA100]), University of Oslo. I was tutorial teacher in the introductory course in Calculus (MA100) at the University of Oslo. The work involved going through exercises set by the course lecturer with the students and as a requirement I had to take a very elementary pedagogics course. The tutorial class was an evening class and the student number varied considerably but was on average around 15.
