Since a little kid, I¿ve always been very curious about the ¿why¿ and that led me to always have a special taste for science. I always wanted to know more about our surroundings and the mechanisms that rule our world and life. I'm very motivated by curiosity, by the unknown. I like to learn because it is an important tool that keeps us always more understanding and attentive to the world around us. For the same reasons I really like to travel. And I argue that a balance between work and leisure is the key to success. It was a natural choice for me to study Biotechnology at the University of Aveiro. During my bachelor¿s degree I was able to acquire knowledge of chemistry and biology (and related areas), and ways in which these two areas become one. After my bachelor¿s degree I entered the master's degree in Molecular Biomedicine at the same institution. With this master's degree I became better able to bridge the chemical and biological parts, with a different and more complete know-how. I decided to do my master's thesis in ¿Development of new anticancer metallodrugs¿ as a continuation of the degree project. It was during the last year that I developed a very detailed knowledge of the manipulation of various spectroscopic techniques and what we can analyse with them, both in structural characterization and in interaction with biomolecules. In 2020 I joined the COMPASS Research Group, which belongs to the Associate Laboratory CICECO ¿ Aveiro Institute of Materials of UA, as a master researcher on the scope of COP2P project (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-030771) under the supervision of Drº João Rodrigues, where I am responsible for the chemical modifications of biopolymers, conjugation with peptides and full characterization through NMR, FTIR-ATR, UV-Vis and SEM. Currently I'm a PhD student in chemistry, in which I will developed bioinspired smart complex coacervate adhesives for biomedical applications. During this time I participated in six conferences with five poster presentations and one oral communication. I'm also the second author of a review paper.
