Andreia Gomes graduated in biochemistry in 2010 from Universidade de Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro, Portugal, and completed her master in Biotechnology in 2012 from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias ¿ Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. In 2021 Andreia completed her Ph.D in Molecular Biosciences from Instituto de Tecnologia Química e Biológia ¿ Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal. She focused on the understanding of the molecular mechanisms underlying the beneficial effects of a (poly)phenol enriched diet in in vitro and in vivo cardiovascular models¿. Her work was awarded with an honorable mention in the category of Research and Development within Food & Nutrition Awards (FNA) 2019. Currently, Andreia is a postdoctoral researcher at the Translation Biology Laboratory at CBIOS-ULHT. From a total of 19 publications, 13 were published in the last 5 years, and they include 3 as first author. Andreia had 6 oral communications in scientific meetings (2 awarded as best oral communication) and 5 poster presentations in scientific meetings (2 awarded as best young poster communication). She integrated the management committee of 2 COST actions. Andreia offers proficiency in cell biology, particularly experience with different cell lines and primary cell culture techniques, and in different omics techniques: proteomics (2D-electrophoresis, Western blotting, size exclusion chromatography), metabolomics (UPLC MS/MS, NMR, 16s rRNA gene sequencing). Additionally, she has the FELASA Level C Course on Laboratory Animal Sciences. Works in the areas of Natural sciences with emphasis on Biological Sciences, and aims to help in the identification of molecular targets for therapeutic intervention and development of novel diagnostic tools for diabetes prevention and detection.
