Inês da Costa Gonçalves

Inês da Costa Gonçalves. Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology. I have concluded my Bachelor Degree in Biology - Molecular Biology and Genetics from Faculdade de Ciências, Universidade de Lisboa in 2015 and my Master Degree in Biotechnology from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade de Lisboa in late 2017. I have been working as a Research Fellow at the Microbial Genetics Lab, UCIBIO@REQUIMTE, since 2019, under the supervision of Professor Isabel Sá-Nogueira in the scope of the project "Bacterial ABC-type Multitask Energizers: one ATPase fits all?" (PTDC/BIA-MIC/30696/2017). In early 2021 I was granted an FCT-funded scholarship by UCIBIO and I am currently a PhD student in Programa Doutoral em Biologia at NOVA School of Science and Technology. My research work focuses on the regulation and molecular mechanisms of carbohydrate ABC type I ATPases from Bacillus subtilis and on the characterisation of an ATPase in Staphylococcus aureus. I am also interested in understanding the exchangeability and parity of Multitask ATPases in Bacteria. My scientific productions include one article, four poster presentations and two oral presentations. Moreover, since 2021 I have co-tutored four undergrad students. Throughout my academic and professional path I have enrolled in several extracurricular courses and I have organised two scientific events. Frequent terms in the context of my scientific productions and competence are: ABC Transporters, ATPase, NBD, Bacillus subtilis, MsmX, Multitask, Exchangeability, MsmX crystal structure, Lactic Acid Bacteria, CRISPR/Cas9.
