Jan Wolf has a PhD in Public Policy from the University of Aveiro, a masters degree in urban and Regional Planning from the same university and a degree in Sociology from the University of the Beira Interior. His main research focus has been on how principles of equity, and the underlying principle of social justice, can be applied to spatial policies and, in particular, the accessibility to services. This implied to major methodological approaches. On the hand hand, spatial analysis to measure patterns of socioeconomic inequality, and how they are related to the accessibility to spatial amenities. On the other hand, applying methods to assess and the stakeholder and citizen perceptions and preferences regarding spatial inequalities and justice. Besides his academic activities (in the last 5 years he co/authored 9 articles in Scopus indexed journals, 2 book chapters, and several proceedings in conferences, and has participated in 4 research projects, 3 of them financed by the FCT), he also has practical experience in devising local and regional plans for public and private organizations, having participated in more than 10 cooperation projects in the last 5 years.
