Celso Paiva João is the Instrumental Development Manager at LaserLeap Technologies, where he leads the design and development of cutting-edge opto-acoustic instrumentation for advanced cosmetic and medical devices. He holds a PhD in Physics from Instituto Superior Técnico, University of Lisbon (2016), and has extensive expertise in optics, high-power lasers, photoacoustics, and regulatory compliance for high-tech products. Throughout his career, he has contributed to two patent applications, published more than 30 articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference proceedings, and delivered over 10 oral presentations at international conferences, including two invited talks. His work focuses on high-power laser technologies and on the development of high-amplitude, high-frequency photoacoustic materials and instrumentation for medical, aesthetic, and advanced material applications. He has successfully supervised one PhD student, three Master's students, and four undergraduate internships in the fields of Physics, Physics Engineering, Chemistry, and Biomedical Instrumentation. At LaserLeap, he currently coordinates a multidisciplinary team of four members, including a PhD student in Chemistry, an electrotechnical technician, and two undergraduate trainees, contributing to the development of next-generation opto-acoustic technologies.
