Miguel Leitão received his BSc and MSc degrees in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Beira Interior in 2018 and 2020, respectively. The research work developed during the MSc degree at CICS-UBI was aimed at researching and developing graphene oxide nanoparticles for use in photothermal cancer therapy. He is currently a PhD student in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. His research interests focus on the development of innovative multi-target agents for the treatment of biofilm infections, with particular interest in phytochemicals.
