Sofia Ponte is an assistant professor at IADE - Universidade Europeia, in Lisbon, and associate researcher at UNIDCOM-IADE. She concluded her PhD in Art and Design at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Porto. Her PhD research was funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Ponte holds a Master of Science in Visual Studies by the School of Architecture and Planning, MIT. She is the author of the monograph Transforming Functional Art into a Museum Object published by Direção Geral do Património and Editora Caleidoscópio in 2020. She has been publishing on recent public art, Art and Design, Net Art in Portugal, Women in the Fine Arts and the aftermath of these ideas and art practices in exhibitions and collections of art.
