Ana Isabel Batista da Mota Baía was born in Aveiro, Portugal, in 1975. She is a resident in Covilhã, Portugal. Graduated in Industrial Chemistry from the Universidade da Beira Interior (UBI) in 2006, and obtained a Master's in Industrial Chemistry in 2008, also from UBI. Between 2006 and 2021, she developed professional activity in the textile industry, Fitecom Comercialização e Industrialização Têxtil S.A., in the area of Dyeing and Quality Control. In 2020, she enrolled in a PhD in Chemistry at UBI, starting her work with funding from a PhD Incentive Scholarship, Santander-Totta/UBI. Also has received financial support from a Research Grant for a Master (BI), under the Research Project untitled UIDB/00195/2020 "Strategic Project of the FibEnTech research unit", funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), I.P./MCTES. Develops studies in the field of environmental electrochemistry applied to the degradation of persistent organic pollutants present in real and simulated effluents. Applies electrochemical technologies, namely anodic oxidation, and electro-Fenton. Also, applies analytical methodologies for the monitoring of environmental parameters during the treatments. Since 2022 developed studies with financial support from a PhD Grant - 2022.11077.BD., funded by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT); studies on wastewater treatment using bioelectrochemical processes, specifically with microbial fuel cells and microbial electrolysis cells, with the production of energy and green hydrogen.
