Lara Fonseca obtained the Bachelor and MSc degrees in Biochemistry at the University of Beira Interior. Lara has been developing research work in the field of prostate cancer biology, specifically on the role of prostate microbiome in controlling prostate cell fate and metabolism. Currently, Lara has published 4 papers, 1 book chapter, and 4 conference abstract. Also, she has several presentations in national and international scientific events. In her CV, Lara also has 8 awards, participation in 5 research projects and the organization of the scientific and social events. Lara present strong laboratory skills in cell culture, cell viability and proliferation assays (MTT and SRB), immunocytochemistry, gene silencing, microbiology, RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, conventional PCR, real-time PCR (qPCR), RT-qPCR, protein extraction and quantification, Western Blot analysis and enzymatic activity assays. Also, Lara has certified experience in cell culture, animal experimentation and bioinformatics.
