Orlando Vieira Francisco is a visual artist and researcher linked to i2ADS (Research Institute in Art, Design and Society) and professor of the Master in Art and Design for Public Space (FBAUP). Brazilian, born in 1986, lives and works in Porto, Portugal. He is a member of The Spatial Cluster research group (linked to the European Forum of Advanced Practices) and co-editor of the HUB — Journal of Research in Art, Design and Society (i2ADS). In 2018, he completed a Ph.D. in Art and Design at FBAUP. He investigated how authoritarian policies are present in urban infrastructure, symbolic monumentalities, and institutional structures. In 2014, he held an MA in Art and Design for the Public Space on political expressions of multitudes in public space. He works in different art and political collectives in Portugal, Austria, Belgium, and Brazil. Recently, he has been coordinating the project "From the top of mountains we can see invisible monuments" in different contexts and regions. He works within the themes of the production of social space between art and politics, the landscape as a concept of constant change, and practices of environmental and social activism.
