Ana Dias has completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Universidade da Beira Interior. She then completed a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the same university, finishing her thesis with a grade of 19 and achieving an overall course average of 18. During her master’s studies, she took courses in Machine Learning (grade of 16), Computational Intelligence (grade of 18), and Computer Vision (grade of 17). Her interest in scientific research led her to take part in a research project led by Prof. Nuno Pombo (UBI). The work carried out in the scope of this project resulted in her first publication, entitled “Improved Flaky Test Detection with Black-Box Approach and Test Smells”, which investigates the identification of flaky test cases using a black-box approach and their correlation with the presence of test smells. Her master’s thesis, entitled "Super-resolution Satellite Imagery for Crop Health Monitoring" under the supervision of Prof. João Neves (UBI), was developed in parallel with her work as a Research Fellow on the same topic in the scope of a National Research project funded by Fundação "la Caixa". This work focused on developing innovative strategies to improve existing super-resolution models, integrating remote-sensing and multispectral data to produce high-resolution images from low-resolution satellite images provided by the European Space Agency, addressing the challenge of effectively monitoring soil and plant health in agricultural fields. Currently, Ana has started her PhD studies in the field of Biometric Face Recognition. Her research interests include Computer Vision, Deep Learning, Biometric Recognition, and Explainable Artificial Intelligence (XAI).
