Ricardo Carreira obtained his Biotechnology Bachelor's and Biochemistry Master's degrees at the University of Beira Interior. These degrees allowed Ricardo to broaden his knowledge to a wide spectrum of topics, ranging from industrial and food biotechnology to medical biochemistry and biotechnology. In the last year, Ricardo has focused its research on prostate cancer and its cellular mechanisms. With this project, Ricardo developed his laboratory skills, namely in cell culture; cell viability, proliferation and migration assays; gene silencing; RNA and Protein extraction and subsequent analysis with qPCR and Western Blot, respectively.
