Fátima Mota (FM) graduated in Pharmacy from the Escola Superior de Saúde (ESS) - Polytechnic Institute of Guarda (IPG) in 2019. She completed her Master's in Quality Control from the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto (FFUP) in 2021. In 2017, she completed an internship in hospitalar pharmacy, at the University Hospital Center of São João, in Porto, in a total of 280 hours, where she acquired knowledge about unit dose preparation, preparation and manipulation of pharmaceutical formulas for chemotherapy and parenteral nutrition and outpatient pharmacy. She also performed an internship at a community pharmacy- Alves Moreira, in Porto, in a total of 210 hours. From 2018 to 2020 she was a volunteer researcher at LAQV/REQUIMTE at the Faculty of Pharmacy of the University of Porto. In the period of 2020 to 2022, FM was a research fellow in the project funded by FCT (PTDC/QUI-QAN/30163/2017) entitled "Tailored NanoGumbos: The green key to wound infections chemsensing". During her research career, she has been working on the development of automatic flow systems, through sequential injection analysis (SIA) and lab-on-valve (LOV) techniques. In addition, she worked on the application of synthetic and natural compounds, such as ionic liquids, ionic liquids with active pharmaceutical ingredients and plant extracts, in the mentioned systems. Part of her work is the automation of enzymatic reactions, having already worked with different enzymes, applied to different pathologies, in association with the use of biological samples (blood, serum, urine and wound fluid) related to these diseases. Recently developed work related to quantum dots (QDs) and chronic wounds. FM also deepened his knowledge in the area of ¿¿GUMBOS and nanoGUMBOS. This research resulted in a total of 5 articles (including 2 review) published in top analytical chemistry journals (eg TrAC Trends Anal. Chem (12,296 IF)). All articles were published as first author, in first quartile journals with an impact factor higher than 3. Fátima Mota participated in 15 national and international events. FM presented 4 oral communications derived from published articles, in IJUP- 12nd Young Research Meeting of the University of Porto, ANALYTICAL 2020 - 10th Meeting of the Analytical Chemistry Division of SPQ, in 4th International Caparica Christmas Conference on Translational Chemistry and in XXVII Luso Galego Chemistry Meeting. In addition, it also presented 3 poster communications. Some results of her work were disseminated to the general public by participating in the 17,, 18, 19 and 20th Exhibition of the University of Porto in 2019, 2020, 2022, 2023 (MOSTRA da UP). Fátima Mota was part of the mentoring / tutoring of 4 international students under the Erasmus program or other protocols between UP and international universities. She was invited to collaborate in the laboratory classes of Instrumental Methods of Analysis 2020/2021, 2021/2022 and 2022/2023 (35 students, 9h) in the master's degree in Quality Control in UP.
