Born in Lisbon, Ana Isabel Lemos do Carmo Pereira holds a PhD in Musical Sciences, specialization in Teaching and Psychology of Music, from NOVA University of Lisbon (obtained in 2010, unanimously approved, with Very Good) and, since 2014 has been an integrated member of Centro de Estudos de Sociologia e Estética Musical (CESEM) at Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities - NOVA University of Lisbon (NOVA FCSH). She completed her master's degree in Teaching of music in Basic Education at NOVA FCSH (in 2014), and her undergraduate studies in Environmental Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico - University of Lisbon (in 1999). She is an Invited Assistant Teacher at Escola Superior de Educação de Lisboa - Instituto Politécnico de Lisboa since 2015. Her doctoral research, undertaken as a fellow of the Doctoral Program by NOVA FCSH - FCT, focused on the influence of singing with text and a neutral syllable on Portuguese children¿s vocal performance, song recognition, and use of singing voice. As a result of this investigation, she participated in 8 international conferences, such as ICMPC, ISME, MERYC, ISAME, APSCOM, and 1 national conference (ENIM), she published 3 articles (in Revista Portuguesa de Educação Artística, in 2016, Music Perception, in 2019, and Revista Portuguesa de Educação Musical, in 2020), 1 book section, and has 1 registration of industrial design. She also published 2 other book sections as a result of her involvement in two educational-artistic projects by Companhia de Música Teatral and CESEM, funded by Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. She co-organized 6 events related to music education in early childhood. In her professional activities, she interacted with 24 collaborators. Her main interests include the study of musical learning and development and the evaluation of vocal performance in children.
