Mafalda Nejmeddine is a harpsichordist with a doctorate in Music and Musicology, specialising in performance, from the University of Évora, and is a specialist in Portuguese keyboard music of the 18th and 19th centuries. She obtained a Diploma in the Complementary Piano Course (Academy of Music S. Pio X, Vila do Conde), a Degree in Music - Harpsichord (Lisbon School of Music), the 1st Prize for Harpsichord (Conservatory of Paris-CNR) and a Master's degree in Child Studies - Music Education (University of Minho). She developed research into and the dissemination of the Portuguese musical heritage, among these being the preparation of a manual for the Basic Harpsichord Course with Portuguese repertoire from the 18th century, the study of the keyboard sonata in Portugal during the period 1750-1807, various national and international meetings of a scientific nature, the publication of scientific articles, as well as giving recitals and lecture-recitals of unedited works of the Portuguese keyboard repertoire of the second half of the 18th century. She edited the modern edition of the collection "Sei sonate per cembalo" by Alberto José Gomes da Silva (fl.1758–†1793) and made the first recording of this collection on a historic Portuguese harpsichord. She also produced the critical edition of the "Miserere de Villa de Conde" by António da Silva Leite (1759-1833) and gave the first modern performance of the work. She is an integrated researcher at the Centre for the Study of the Sociology and Aesthetics of Music (CESEM/IN2PAST) at the University of Évora.
