She teaches in higher education since 1997 and she is an adjunct professor of mathematics department at ISEP. She earned her PhD in Engineering and Industrial Management - Faculty of Engineering, from University of Porto (Portugal) in the scientific domain of economics and management, MSc in Sciences and Engineering in Sciences Faculty from University of Porto, and a bachelor degree in mathematics. Susana Nicola is an integrated member at INESCTEC, since january of 2024. Susana Nicola was an integrated member at ISRC - interdisciplinary studies research center- where her interest in innovation and entrepreneurship, value creation, low-code technology, innovative pedagogical methods, collaborative networks and fuzzy theory resulted in publications/communications in conferences and scientific journals. Her work has been recognized through several awards in different areas: in the area off pedagogical innovation she won pedagogical innovation prize at Polytechnic Institute of Porto, on the 35th anniversary of the IPP, on of February 28th, 2020. In the area of Innovation and Entrepreneurship she won a diploma of merit in 2019 by the European Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship (ECIE), and recently with won a distinction at national level in the area of innovation and entrepreneurship: the national competition award of the 16th edition of the Poliempreende program with the BullyBan Project. She has so far been responsible for supervised several MScs students (more than 30) and internship programs students (more then 35) in different areas, systems engineering, industrial management and electrical and computer engineering. She is the (co)supervisor of 1 PhD. She published more than 30 articles in different environments: proceeding papers, Publications in International and National journals and book chapters . She has been conducting research projects (Erasmus and FCTprojects) between ISEP and industry, bringing knowledge, good practices from the outside world to academia and vice versa. She is a professional Engineering Educator certified by ENTER - International Professional Register of Engineering Educators. She is monitoring Committee member of ENTER network.
