Leandro Miguel Bastos Pires

I am a biologist (2019) with a Master's degree in Functional Biology and Plant Biotechnology (2023). I worked in i3S, Oporto Portugal, group Bioengineering and Synthetic Microbiology, in biosynthetic gene clusters in marine cyanobacteria (2016-2018). I am currently working on demystifying iodine perception and regulation in plants at BIOPOLIS-CIBIO, PLANTBIO group (2021-current) as well as studying the role of SUMO protease in telomere-dependent gene regulation in plants (2023-current). I have special interest in functional biology, molecular biology and bioinformatics.
