Catarina Castro is a PhD candidate in Psychology at the Center for Psychological Research and Social Intervention (CIS-Iscte), and an FCT grant recipient (UI/BD/154443/2022). Her work in the areas of Educational and Community Psychology focuses on the implementation and evaluation of educational and community interventions in children and youth's social and emotional skills, as well as in the monitoring the implementation of those interventions. She currently collaborates in a research project aiming to consult with all school clusters in the Municipality of Sintra to implement and evaluate school-based social and emotional learning interventions. Her past work experience as a research fellow at CIS-Iscte included taking part in the Monitoring & Evaluation Team for the Gulbenkian Academies for Knowledge, as well as in scientific consulting for public entities (schools, municipalities) and NGOs in areas such as project monitoring and evaluation, science communication, social and emotional development, and the importance of research to inform public policies. She concluded her MSc in Community Psychology and Protection of Children and Youth at Risk in 2018 at Iscte.
