Catarina Isabel da Poça Diniz is a PhD student in Biomedicine at UBI. Catarina Diniz has a Bachelor degree in Biomedical Sciences from UBI (2020, final classification of 13) and Master degree in Biomedical Sciences from the same university (2022, final classification of 16). Her MSc dissertation, developed under the supervision of Adriana O. Santos, was titled "Avaliação do impacto dos níveis de expressão de RalGPS2 em cancro do pulmão e da próstata" [“Evaluation of the impact of RalGPS2 expression levels in prostate and lung cancers”]. In 2021, Catarina benefited from a fellowship related with of the entrepreneurship project “Plant4healing” (application number 1924), financed in the scope of the program StartUp Voucher 2019-2022 from IAPMEI, co-financed by Compete2020, Portugal 2020 and FSE. She is certified to conduct animal experimentation and author of a conference article, an abstract in a conference proceedings book and 3 posters presented in international congresses. She also completed the 2nd Advanced Course on Fluorescence Microscopy and Image Analysis at CICS-UBI, Covilhã, has training in “Liderança, Gestão e Valorização de Pessoas” ["Leadership, Management, and People Development"] and further training in “O Essencial da Gestão de Dados de Investigação” ["Essentials of Research Data Management"], both provided by General Secretariat of Education and Science, NAU Platform. Additionally, as part of the "Plant4healing" project, she also attended training sessions on “Contabilidade empresarial para empreendedores” ["Business Accounting for Entrepreneurs"], “Plano de negócios e planeamento financeiro” ["Business Plan and Financial Planning"] and “Financiamento através do mercado de capitais” ["Financing through the Capital Market"] all organized by the IAPMEI SME Academy and Turismo de Portugal. She is also a tutor in the Biomedical Sciences and Biochemistry degrees of Universidade da Beira Interior since 2024 where she has supervised two graduations.
