Daniel Silva is a PhD Researcher in Work Psychology at the University of Porto - Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences. He was awarded a PhD Scholarship by the FCT - Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (Grant SFRH/BD/139135/2018) and his doctoral thesis is entitled "Between me and the machine: the role of professional experience in changing contexts due to automation and its contributions to the future of work". His main research interests focus on (i) new configurations of human-machine interaction in work contexts with higher levels of automation; the role of professional experience (considering its totality, bodily, cognitive, subjective and social) in contexts that are undergoing changes linked to Industry 4.0/5.0; and (iii) the impact of emerging technologies on occupational health and safety (OHS), considering their implications and resources for the sustainability of work. Following an activity-centred approach, he has been participating in different hands-on research and organisational consultancy projects, mainly on the topics of health and well-being at work, psychosocial risks and technological transitions in the workplace based on the integration of new automation technologies. He is also a member of the Direction of Laboreal, an international and interdisciplinary journal.
