Rodrigo Ramos has worked as an expatriate English teacher in Timor-Leste since February 2024. He worked as an English Coordinator and Teacher in a Secondary School in Tábor, the Czech Republic, from August 2021 to December 2023. He also worked as a Portuguese language teacher at the INFORDEPE in Díli, Timor-Leste, from March 2020 to July 2021. He worked as an English Teacher (Cursos Livres) at the Languages and Cultures Department at the University of Aveiro from September 2019 to March 2020. Rodrigo also worked as an English Teacher at the Department of Arts, Languages, and Communication of the University of Trás-Os-Montes e Alto Douro from February 2019 to August 2019. He was also an EFL teacher for MLI International Schools mainly in Edinburgh (Scotland), London, Portsmouth and Chelmsford (England) from the 07th of July 2014 to the 15th of August 2017. Rodrigo is currently pursuing a Literary Studies PhD degree in Tolkien's fantasy and fantastic literary works at the University of Aveiro. His research interests include Androcentrism, Myth, Fantastic, and Fantasy novels. Rodrigo took his master's degree in English Studies at the University of Aveiro in 2010. He also took a Licentiate in Teaching Portuguese and English in 2007, which included an English Studies Seminar on Virginia Woolf and Florbela Espanca. Rodrigo did his year abroad in the Canadian-American and English Studies Department of the University of Nottingham in 2005, where he took some English literature and linguistics modules. Rodrigo has been teaching both English and Portuguese, as a first, an additional and second language in the Czech Republic, England, Scotland, Portugal and East Timor since 2007. He is highly interested in literature, history, films, and the countryside, and his travels have taken him to many countries around the world, such as Timor-Leste, Indonesia, China (Macau), Dubai, Qatar, Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia, the United Kingdom (including England, Scotland, Wales and the Isle of Wight), Spain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic.
