I hold a BA & MA (quadrennial Laurea) in analytic philosophy of language (title of the thesis: "The de dicto-de re Distinction in Belief Ascriptions", supervised by Marco Santambrogio) from the Università di Parma, Italy. On October 24th 2012, I defended my PhD thesis in analytic philosophy of language (title: "Believing without Modes of Presentation"), supervised by Kevin Mulligan (main supervisor) and Santambrogio (co-supervisor), at the Université de Genève, Switzerland; the PhD committee included Kit Fine (NYU) and François Recanati (Collège de France). During my doctoral studies, I spent as a visiting student three terms at the University of Sheffield (supervised by Jennifer Saul), three terms at NYU (supervised by Fine and Stephen Schiffer) and one term at Columbia University. After the completion of my doctoral studies, I was an instructor in logic, metaphysics, modern and contemporary philosophy at Rutgers University (2012-13), a lecturer in philosophy of language at the Université de Genève (2013-14) and at the Université de Fribourg (fall 2014). In 2015-17 I was in California as a postdoctoral mobility fellow of the Swiss National Science Foundation; my research project (title: "Russellianism") was supervised by David Kaplan (UCLA), Nathan Salmon (UCSB) and Scott Soames (USC). In 2018-19 I was a postdoctoral fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science at Tokyo Metropolitan University (host researcher: Naoya Fujikawa). In 2019-20 I was a visiting researcher at the University of Tokyo (with Fujikawa). In 2020-21 I am again at Tokyo Metropolitan University as a visiting researcher (with Youichi Matzusaka). I have published nine articles in journals such as Philosophical Studies, Linguistics and Philosophy, Dialectica, Theoria, Grazer Philosophische Studien, Disputatio and in the volume "Metaphysics, Meaning, and Modality: Themes from Kit Fine" (ed. M. Dumitru, Oxford University Press). In addition, two papers of mine are forthcoming in Theoria and in the linguistics journal Intercultural Pragmatics (thematic issue: Philosophy and Pragmatics). I am currently completing a book entitled "The Remnants of Modes of Presentation". I have a solid record of teaching experience, having taught during and after my doctoral studies nineteen courses in symbolic logic, critical thinking, philosophy of language, philosophy of mind, metaphysics, applied ethics, modern and contemporary philosophy at seven universities in Switzerland (École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, Université de Genève, Université de Fribourg), UK (University of Sheffield) and USA (Rowan University, CUNY and Rutgers University).
