Santosh Kumar received the Ph.D. degree from IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, Dhanbad, India. He is currently an Associate Professor with the School of Physics Science and Information Technology, Liaocheng University, Liaocheng, China. He has guided eight M.Tech. dissertations and six Ph.D. candidates. He has published more than 170 high-level research articles in national and international SCI journals and conferences. He has presented many articles at conferences held in Belgium and USA. He has published two books entitled Fiber Optic Communication: Optical Waveguides, Devices and Applications (University Press, 2017), India, and another book entitled 2D Materials for Surface Plasmon Resonance-Based Sensors (CRC Press, Taylor & Francis Group, 2021). He has also published one patent. He has reviewed more than 800 SCI journals of IEEE, Elsevier, Springer, OPTICA, SPIE, and Nature. His current research interests include optical fiber sensors, photonics and plasmonic devices, nano and biophotonics, and waveguide and interferometer. He is a Life Fellow Member of the Optical Society of India and a Senior Member of IEEE, OPTICA and SPIE. He is also a Traveling Lecturer of OPTICA. He is also a Chair of Optica Optical Biosensors Technical Group. He has delivered many invited talks and serves as the session chair of IEEE conferences. He is also an Associate Editor of the IEEE SENSORS JOURNAL, IEEE ACCESS, IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON NANOBIOSCIENCE, Frontiers in Physics, and Biomedical Optics Express. He has successfully completed a number of externally funded projects on healthcare applications in India and China. He recently received a high-level foreign expert certificate from the People's Republic of China. He maintains close collaboration with a number of prestigious universities in India, China, Portugal, Brazil, and Italy. He teaches effectively and conducts high-quality research in the fields of electronics and communication engineering, as well as physics. He has previously taught undergraduate and postgraduate students in Optical Communication Networks, Mobile Computing, Fiber Optics & Laser Instrumentation, Introduction to Electronics & Communication Engineering, Optical Networks, Electromagnetic Field Theory, Wireless Communication, and Optical Fiber Communication. According to Google Scholar, he currently has an h-index of 21 and over 1700 citations.
