Jéssica Moura obtained MSc degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Aveiro, Portugal, in 2021. Currently, she is a PhD student of Environmental Sciences and Engineering and a research fellow at the Department of Environment and Planning, University of Aveiro. Her main research interests relate to the conversion of residual biomass into value-added products (biochar, gas, and bio-oil). Since 2021, Jéssica contributed as a team member to the implementation of 4 R&D projects related to the exploitation of renewable energy sources and waste recycling. Her research experience includes the design and implementation of biomass pyrolysis and gasification experiments using bench-scale and prototype-scale reactors, the evaluation of the catalyst's impact (e.g.: Fe-Mn and siderite/concrete) on the products generation and properties, the mass and energy assessment of thermochemical processes, the reactor's upgrade to improve the product's yield and properties and to suppress process constrains, the techno-economic viability analysis, and the life cycle analysis of a reverse vending system implementation for PET bottles and aluminium cans. Jéssica is a co-author of 2 scientific articles on the valorisation of residual forest biomass, and first-author of a conference presentation.
