Bruno T. Rocha. Completed his PhD and MSc in Economics at the University of Essex and a MRes in Economic Governance at Sciences-Po Paris. Researcher since November 2019 at REM/UECE (Research in Economics and Mathematics / Research Unit on Complexity and Economics) and Adjunct member of CEsA (Center for African and Development Studies) between January 2019 and November 2023; both units are part of ISEG, the Lisbon School of Economics and Management of the University of Lisbon. Previous postdoctoral experience at the Católica Porto Business School and the Faculty of Economics of the University of Cambridge. Non-academic experience include among others the Portuguese Public Finance Council and the OECD. Published 7 articles in international peer-reviewed journals (all Scimago/Scopus Q1), 1 article in a national peer-reviewed journal, and a Handbook chapter. Participates or participated in 4 research projects. His main field of research is regional and urban economics and economic geography, with an emphasis on the effects of transport infrastructure; other areas include economic growth and development/comparative economics (with an emphasis on structural policy complementarities) and systemic banking crises in different historical periods. Was awarded an Individual FCT CEEC (Scientific Employment Stimulus) Assistant Researcher grant in November 2023 with the project "DynaMOTOR – Motorways in Portugal: Local Dynamic Effects and Political Economy Factors" (to be started in 2024). As of February 2024 has, in addition to the complete or submitted working papers listed in the CV below, 4 papers in progress, all of them on transport accessibility and economic geography.
