Maria Cristina Costa graduated in Mathematics from Universidade de Coimbra, Master Degree in Mathematics from Universidade de Lisboa, PhD course in Mathematics from ISEG of Universidade de Lisboa, and PhD in Education from FCT Universidade NOVA de Lisboa, specilization in curricular development. Member of research projects such as the H2020 EU project “Highlands” targeted to identify, implement and analyze initiatives of Inclusive Sustainable Development in Highlands; and of the research project from Foundation for Science and Technology “PTDC/CED-EDG/32422/2017”. Adjunct Professor of the Polytechnic Institute of Tomar (IPT - Portugal). Since 2013, the Head of the educational project “Academy of Science, Art and Heritage” (www.academiacap.ipt.pt) and coordinator in IPT of intervention projects, related to STEAM, in collaboration with local Municipality (Funded by Centro 2020) and Teacher Training Centres (Funded by POCH). Researcher from CICS.NOVA - Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences from Universidade NOVA. Lately, research interests are related to STEAM and educational technologies, namely location-based mobile augmented reality in the framework of game-based learning. She published several papers related to STEAM in international journals, book chapters and presented her research at national and international conferences.
