Clara Gomes. Researcher at ICNOVA. The scientific activity I develop corresponds to an artistic, technical and theoretical production, both individual and collective, where experiments around identity and the body allied to the technological evolution result in a regular intention, bounded to the word of communication and the arts. It is a line of research that concentrates on a balance between artist work and theoretical investigation with the aim of finding answers to a body that extends to virtual spaces. Communication sciences and artistic studies are the fields I cross in search for the emerging roads of the new performance arts. New media, Human Computer Interaction, digital transformation, mixed reality performance, cyberformance and netactivism are the sub-areas I have been dedicated to, with the objective of understanding their contribution to new distance communication models. Presence, absence and the (in)visibilities of post-pandemic virtual communications is my latest research subject with a focus on the arts.
