Monteiro Rodrigues holds a MSc and a PhD in cardiovascular physiology, being the head of the research unit CBIOS (Universidade Lusófona, Lisboa P) where he leads the Modelling Systems lab. Microcirculatory Physiology and Pathophysiology and Skin Physiology are main themes of his interest. Founder and current Chairman of the EEMCO Group (2017-) and the Portuguese Physiological Society (2019-). Activities and Main Interest areas: • Vascular physiology, microcirculation and vascular medicine • Skin physiology and pathophysiology • Mathemathical modelling of physiological variables • Assessment and evaluation of topical health products (safety, efficacy diagnosis and therapeutics od medicines, cosmetics and medical devices) • Physiology education (in biomedical sciences) Indicators: • Supervision of multiple advanced academic projects which includes as six PhD thesis (three more ongoing), three PosDoc and more than forthy MSc dissertations • Publication of more than four hundred scientific papers • Publication of approximately fourthy pedagogical papers and reports • Presention of research in more than 500 communications (oral and panel) to national and international audiences
