Romina Guedes has a PhD in Pharmacy – specialty: Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Therapeutics (2019; University of Lisbon – Faculty of Pharmacy; collaboration with University of Coimbra – Faculty of Pharmacy and with the University of Ferrara - Italy), a Masters degree in Pharmaceutical and Therapeutic Chemistry (2017; University of Coimbra – Faculty of Pharmacy) and also an Integrated Masters degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences (2009; University of Coimbra – Faculty of Pharmacy). Currently, Romina is a researcher of the Center for Neurosciences and Cell Biology (University of Coimbra) and Invited Assistant Professor (of Toxicology and Toxicological Analysis) at the University of Coimbra – Faculty of Pharmacy. The main target area of her multidisciplinary research has been the Oncology field (in particular the Ubiquitin Proteasome System, namely the proteasome and deubiquinating enzyme USP7), but also has collaborations in Respiratory, Infectious and Metabolic diseases. The main achievements of her work include the finding of new scaffolds of proteasome inhibitors, and also chemical patterns that can be used in future drug discovery projects by research groups all over the world in order to speed up this process. Romina has several publications in international journals, and also several poster and oral communications. She has received 2 awards for best oral communication and also a merit scholarship from the University of Coimbra. Moreover, she has performed peer review of manuscripts for publication.
