Marina received her Environmental Health degree from ESTeSL in 2010, having won the Caixa Geral de Depósitos award for the best student of the course for that year. In 2016, Marina earned her Ph.D. degree in Environmental Sciences by TUDelft, Delft, The Netherlands. She is currently Full Professor in Lisbon School of Health Technology (ESTeSL), from Polytechnic of Lisbon, Portugal and researcher in three Portuguese Research Centers: Health and Technology and Research Center (H&TRC), Center For Nuclear Sciences and Technologies (C2TN) and OSEAN. Since 2010, Almeida-Silva has participated in 18 national and international projects in diverse topics, such as aerosol characterization, air quality assessment, human exposure to air pollutants, air quality monitoring, sustainable mobility, low carbon economy, innovation and entrepreneurship, nuclear techniques, among others. Moreover, all these collaborations potentiated the possibility to participate in European networks and platforms, such as FAIRMODE, U!REKA and the Cost Actions COLOSSAL and SHELDON. All these activities and collaborations have enabled the improvement of the relations between a wide range of disciplines and stakeholders, from researchers to business stakeholders and between teachers and society actors. This reinforces the importance of performing cutting-edge R&D activities with relevance and application in real world. M. Almeida-Silva published 2 books, 2 book chapters and 36 scientific articles (WoS), 13 as first author, and more than 50 communication in national and international conferences. Almeida-Silva has a h-index 16. Recently, Almeida-Silva was recruited by World Health Organization to be Advisory on Technical Group for Air Pollution and Health, is Coordinator of the Commission “Innovation Health Hub” in Lisbon School of Health Technology, Lisbon Polytechnic and Sub-Director of the Department of Diagnostic, Therapeutic and Public Health Sciences.
