José Aleixo Peralta da Cruz nasceu em 1996 na cidade do Porto, sendo residente na vila da Murtosa, Aveiro. Concluiu o Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Informática e Computação (MIEIC) em 2019 pela Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP), com uma particular inclinação para trabalhos na área de inteligência artificial. Na sua tese de mestrado, teve a oportunidade de aprender sobre aprendizagem por reforço (reinforcement learning) e aplicar os seus conhecimentos. Ganhou gosto e admiração pela investigação nessa área, o que o levou a ingressar no Programa Doutoral em Engenharia Informática (ProDEI), também na FEUP. Outras áreas de interesse incluem aprendizagem supervisionada, sistemas multi-agente, simulação e modelação.
