Andrei Figueiredo Prates Longo holds a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Pernambuco (UPE), obtained in 2003. He earned a Master’s degree in Oceanography from the Federal University of Pernambuco (UFPE) in 2009, followed by an MBA in Environmental Planning and Management in 2010. He completed his PhD in Bioenergy at FCT-NOVA in 2023. Currently, he serves as a junior researcher on a project focused on the thermochemical valorization of waste and as an invited Adjunct Professor in a Master's course at Portalegre Polytechnic University. He taught practical classes on the Master's programs for Bioenergy and Food Technology and Safety at FCT-NOVA. He also co-supervised one Master's thesis. His primary research interests lie in the thermochemical valorization of biomass and waste, particularly in the production and application of biochar. Throughout his scientific career, he has contributed to approximately 30 publications, including scientific articles, book chapters, conference papers, theses, abstracts, and posters, in the fields of biotechnology, oceanography, and bioenergy (more details available at https://orcid.org/0000-0002-5734-7270).
