Ariana S. C. Gonçalves received her BSc and MSc degrees in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Beira Interior in 2018 and 2020, respectively. During her master's degree at CICS-UBI, her research interests focused on the application of nanomaterials responsive to near-infrared light and small molecules in cancer phototherapy. She is now a PhD student in Chemical and Biological Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto. Her research interests are focused on the formulation of innovative natural-based combinations with photodynamic activity to counteract biofilm-associated chronic wound infections.
