Dhananjay K. Sharma completed his PhD in Physics as an Erasmus Mundus fellow from the University of Aveiro. He finished undergraduate and graduate course in Physics from AN College, India. During his master’s he worked on the lead-free ferroelectric materials for devices applications at one of the renowned R&D institute named Ferroelectric Research Laboratory, Patna (India). On completing his graduation, he was selected individually for the Svagaata Erasmus Mundus Fellowship (European Union Project Action 2) for PhD at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He worked under the guidance of Prof. Andrei Kholkin, one of the experts in smart material including graphene, 2D materials and multifunctional materials (such as ferroelectrics, multiferroics, biomaterials, and ionic conductors). His topic of research was on the Growth and Characterization of large area Graphene and Molybdenum disulfide by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD). He was awarded the Ph.D. degree in Physics (Nanoscience and Nanotechnology) from the University of Aveiro in 2018 (Portugal). During his PhD, he successfully established an advanced lab dedicated to graphene and other 2D (two-dimensional). He has expertise in the defect creation in graphene required for band-gap engineering by in-situ ammonia doping. He also has experience in the fabrication of other 2D such as MoS2, WS2, hBN, etc. His areas of research focus on graphene along with 2D materials especially in transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) and also on the ferroelectric ceramics, lead-free materials, multiferroic materials. He has worked for more than 4 years on the research projects closely related to the proposed project in this application. The research done during his PhD highly contributed to the advance of the knowledge around the word and, consequently, were published in high impact factor scientific journals. Moreover, some of them are quite useful for direct industrial application. He published some papers in international peer-review journals with a relative impact factor. His most relevant works related with the research project of the present application were published in major multidisciplinary scientific journals including IEEE, Integrated Ferroelectrics, Materials Chemistry and Physics, and Material Research Bulletins. 2 papers were published as a first and corresponding author. All these works were presented in international scientific meetings in the form of both oral and poster presentations, including an invited oral presentation. Apart from this, Dhananjay Sharma is working on the project CONTROLLUB - Self-lubricating coatings for high-temperature applications with controlled release of the lubricating agent at Department of Mechanical Engineering, Polo II of the Coimbra University, under the Prof. Dr Albano Cavaleiro. His works are concentrated on the influence of sputtering parameters in the characteristics of hard coatings, Mechanical characterisation of thin films (depth-sensing technique), Oxidation and corrosion behaviour of materials and standardisation of thin ceramic films. Prior to this, Dhananjay Sharma was Postdoc researcher at CICECO on mobilizing project entitled "On-Surf - Mobilizar competências tecnológicas em Engenharia de Superfícies" under the guidance of Dr. Filipe Oliveira.

  1. Effect of Potassium Content on the Dielectric and Electrical Properties of Sodium Potassium Niobate Ceramics. (KxNa1-x)NbO3 ceramics or KNN is considered as one of the most promising candidates for lead-free piezoelectric applications, because of its high Curie temperature and good electrical properties. However, it is well known that dense and well-sintered KNN ceramics are very difficult to obtain by conventional sintering process because of the high volatility of alkali elements at high temperatures. 2. Effect of BaTiO3 additive on the electrical properties of Na0.50Bi0.50TiO3 lead free ceramics. The near morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) compositions of lead-free piezoelectric ceramics based on sodium bismuth titanate (Na0.50Bi0.50TiO3: NBT) and barium titanate (BaTiO3: BT) were carefully investigated by conventional high temperature mixed-oxide method. All the ceramics exhibit single phase rhombohedral symmetry. The frequency (100 Hz to 1 MHz) and temperature (Room temperature-500 degree. 2013.
