Hugo is a Labour Economist and an Applied Microeconometrician, with work published in the British Journal of Industrial Relations and the Journal of Econometrics. He holds a teaching fellowship in Managerial Economics and Strategy at London School of Economics, and he is affiliated at the Centre for Economic Performance. He completed a Bachelor (2008) and a Masters degree in Economics (2013) at Nova SBE; and a Masters of Research (2017) and a PhD in Economics (2021) at London School of Economics. He did two internships in the Banking Industry, and he worked as an economist at the Research Department of the Portuguese Securities and Exchange Commission (2013), and of the Bank of Portugal (2013/2015). Throughout the years, he has participated in several volunteering projects in Education, Human Rights, Humanitarian Relief and Economics areas.
