Magda's educational background includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics (2013) and Master's in Nuclear and Particle Physics (2016), from the University of Coimbra (Portugal). Currently, Magda is doing a PhD in Physics, also at the University of Coimbra, focusing on the development and implementation of a cost-effective method to produce zirconium-89, from liquid targets, using a medical cyclotron. This work has potential to significantly impact the global supply of zirconium-89 and advance the field of immuno-PET. Notably, Magda’s work has already demonstrated successful application in a pioneering clinical trial at ICNAS. Professionally, Magda has been an integral part of ICNAS-Pharma (formerly ICNAS-Produção) since 2015. She began as a cyclotron physicist and has since assumed the role of Radiation Protection Officer, overseeing all aspects related to radioprotection within ICNAS. Additionally, Magda is an essential member of the medical physics team and has contributed significantly to various research projects and publications related to the development of new production methods for radionuclides and radiopharmaceuticals, as well as the advancement of novel PET scanner instrumentation.
